Print and marketing provider, Pureprint Group, has announced the appointment of Derek Kenney as its new brand development director.

Kenney brings with him an extensive amount of experience following his role as sales director at Kingsbury Press, a branch of Bluetree Group.

Speaking about his recent departure from the company, Kenney wrote on LinkedIn: "After just over three years, I have now left the Bluetree Group, and I would like to take this opportunity to wish Adam, James, and the rest of the team much continued success for 2025."

Last year, Bluetree Group announced major changes to Kingsbury Press, largely the cessation of ultra-luxury offerings which led to a number of redundancies within the company. Since the changes a number of former Bluetree Group employees have moved on to other big print providers.

Kenney’s experience also includes leadership positions at Bell & Bain and HEIDELBERG, giving him a wealth of knowledge of the print and publishing industries.

The appointment comes following a year of growth for Pureprint which made big investments across its sites and acquired Ashford Colour Press at the end of 2024.

Previously, Pureprint reported that it employed over 400 people and had an annual revenue of £70m.

Speaking of his appointment, Kenney says: “Pureprint Group is an amazing, award-winning, client-service-driven company that genuinely delivers holistic solutions across a wide range of print media. They are a world-class outfit with great people, and I’m delighted to contribute to the exciting future ahead.”

Mark Handford, group chief executive officer at Pureprint, adds: “We are thrilled to have Derek join us as we build on the successes of the past year. His experience and reputation in the industry make him a valuable addition, and I’m confident he will play a key role in driving our ambitious growth plans for 2025.”
