The Strategic Mailing Partnership (SMP) has detailed its upcoming Strategic Mail Performance Awards in London on September 26th.

The annual awards are designed for printers, mailing houses, print managers, and agencies to showcase the creativity and innovation present in the industry in 2024.

Recently the SMP has put particular emphasis on showcasing young professionals and emerging talent in print, design, mail, and marketing.

Last year the SMP debuted the Bright Futures category in which workers under the age of 30 were presented with trophies for their hard work and commitment.

This year winners of the award will receive £1,500 of IDM learning credits to spend on DMA learning products, including masterclasses and qualifications to help with internal career development. Runners-up will also receive £450 of learning credits to go towards a DMA masterclass of their choice.

New and existing SMP members can enter the 2024 awards for free ahead of the August 23rd deadline. Winners will be announced at an evening which promises fun, laughter, and entertainment at The Steel Yard, London.

Returning to present the evening is UK comedian and actress, Ellie Taylor, who was able to capture the attention of everyone in attendance at last year’s ceremony.

The headline sponsor for this year’s event is UK Mail which is joined by a cross section of 14 print technology developers, media suppliers, and mail service providers to which are all supporting various awards.

Award entries can cover business mail, advertising, door drop, or partially addressed mailings and can be both B2B and B2C focused.

Lucy Swanston, SMP chair and managing director of Nutshell Creative, who is also a part of the professional judging panel, says: “The Strategic Mail Performance Awards not only aim to celebrate exceptional work within our industry. They also shine a bright light on the excellence of our sector’s products, services, and creative solutions direct to brands and the wider marketing industry.”

Entrants will need to prove aspects of campaigns like reduced campaign costs, increased ROI for clients, and clear sustainability targets and results.

Swanston adds: “The awards generate a wealth of rich case studies that the SMP uses as inspirational examples that prove the effectiveness and value of mail as marketing and communications channel.”

Businesses can submit entries on the SMP’s website and find details of the event on Print Monthly’s events page.
