Sylvamo will be the sole authorised producer of paper certified under the ColorLok standard from January 2027, according to a recent announcement from the paper company

International paper company, Sylvamo, has announced that it will serve as the sole authorised producer of paper certified under the ColorLok technology standard.
Beginning in January 2027, Sylvamo papers – including its brands and private labels – will exclusively carry the ColorLok certification and display the ColorLok logo on packaging.
ColorLok is an internationally recognised performance standard for high-quality printing, designed to deliver vibrant colours, sharper text, and faster drying times across both inkjet and laser printing.
The technology works by incorporating a special additive during paper production, which helps pigments stay near the surface of the sheet. The additive is designed to result in richer colour intensity, darker blacks, and reduced ink absorption.
All papers bearing the ColorLok logo have been tested and certified to meet performance standards for absorption and intensity.
Speaking of the news, Gerald Demets, commercial director for Europe at Sylvamo, says: “ColorLok technology has become synonymous with outstanding print quality.
“As the exclusive producer from 2027 onward, Sylvamo is proud to continue delivering this trusted standard, ensuring customers worldwide can rely on consistent, high-performance printing results.”
Earlier this year, Sylvamo officially unveiled a new name for its existing uncoated, wood-free printing and converting paper portfolio.
The portfolio, now called BERGA, is available in both reel and sheet formats, designed to deliver strong, consistent printing and converting results while meeting high environmental standards.
