Mail and e-commerce logistics company, Whistl, has appointed employees Fliss O’Hara and Laura Sanjurgo to its group executive board, increasing the board to 12 members.

Sanjurgo, who originally joined the company in 2010 as a business development manager, was appointed as commercial director for the company’s mail division last year.

O’Hara was recently promoted to managing director of fulfilment and contact solutions, having previously worked as a commercial director of fulfilment.

Commenting on the appointments, Nick Wells, executive chairman of Whistl, says: “We are delighted to promote Fliss and Laura to the executive board where they will bring experience and energy to help drive forward the growth of the whole group.”

The appointments are part of a range of changes to key personnel at Whistl.

Sarah Brennan has joined as sales and customer experience director for Whistl’s Cross Border team. Brenna previously worked for Landmark Global for seven years, most recently as customer excellence director.

As part of further changes to the management team, managing director Andrew Goddard has now taken responsibility for the Parcel division alongside the Mail and Cross Border divisions.

The logistics company has also undergone notable expansion in recent months.

In December, Whistl relocated its Gateshead-based Contact Solutions team to a new purpose-built facility situated at The Bulrushes in Boldon Business Park. According to the company, the move was made to expand its Contact solutions offering to meet future customer demand.

In October, it also announced that it would invest £6m to expand its Lutterworth fulfilment site.

As part of its plans, site capacity is increasing by 160,000sq ft through the construction of a 40,000sq ft per floor mezzanine structure within the existing warehouse.

The construction of the new mezzanine, which will also include automated conveyors, will reportedly enable the company to process around 250,000 pick and pack items per week. The work is due to be completed in the coming weeks, expected to be available from early 2025.
