Condair launches new Condair Vita humidification system

Micropress Printers has continued its investment in HEIDELBERG technology with the purchase of a new TH82-P Stahlfolder finishing system and a StackStar C robotic stacker
British commercial printer, Micropress Printers, has further strengthened its postpress capabilities with an investment in HEIDELBERG’s TH82-P Stahlfolder and StackStar C finishing and automation systems.
The investment, which follows a recent increase in press capacity at Micropress, is designed to ensure that the company’s folding capabilities can keep pace with higher production output.
The new TH82-P will replace an older folder and is expected to approximately double output compared with the machine it replaces. Micropress already operates a bank of TH82-P folders and chose to invest in the latest generation based on positive experience with the technology.
The investment also introduces the StackStar C robotic stacking system to Micropress Printers for the first time. While the business already uses robotic technology from other manufacturers to support its folding operations, the team began exploring the capabilities of the StackStar C after seeing it at drupa 2024.
Explaining the thinking behind the kit investments, Rob Cross, joint managing director at Micropress, says: “We’ve recently ramped up our press capacity and folding had become our bottleneck. This investment is about bringing our folding capacity in line with what the presses can output.
“Our existing TH82-P folders have been really productive for us, so we know the technology is proven and reliable. This is the latest generation, and we’re keen to see how the improvements HEIDELBERG has made deliver for us.”
Speaking about the StackStar C, Cross adds: “We’ve already got robotics from other manufacturers taking off our folders, but we first saw the StackStar C at drupa. We’re looking forward to seeing how it compares with our existing technology. It carries the HEIDELBERG badge, so we’re hoping for good things.”
Micropress, who already utilises an array of HEIDELBERG Speedmaster litho presses, became the first in the UK to install the HEIDELBERG Jetfire 50 in order to boost its short-run digital capacity.
Micropress was also the first in the UK to install HEIDELBERG’s latest Speedmaster XL 106-8P, as part of a £5m investment programme.
