The global manufacturer of print, materials, and chemicals has detailed its latest 2023 release

Kodak has unveiled its new KODACHROME inks for use with KODAK ULTRASTREAM Continuous Inkjet Technology to achieve high levels of colour rendition, image stability, and detail.
This latest release also supports the recently launched KODAK PROSPER ULTRA 520 Press which utilises ULTRASTREAM technology.
These latest inks have been created to be more sustainable due to its water-based and low-humectant formula. Kodak has also highlighted the lack of PVC or phthalates, making the inks safer and more environmentally friendly.
KODACHROME inks have been created to produce ‘exceptional b=vibrancy and colour consistency’ which have been made for a wide range of substrates.
“Kodak has been pioneering inkjet production printing for 56 years, and our new KODACHROME Inks are designed to deliver outstanding print results and maximize productivity and value for our customers,” says Jim Continenza, executive chairman and chief executive officer at Kodak.
“KODACHROME Inks, together with our high-speed ULTRASTREAM Inkjet Technology and optimizer agents, create efficient digital solutions for cost-effective printing of a broad range of applications. This enables customers to shift more work from traditional printing processes such as offset to digital, opening up new opportunities for increased revenue and profits.”
Kodak’s proprietary pigment micro-milling process creates pigment particles that are able to achieve vibrancy and colour consistency. Pigment particles are typically less than 50 nanometres and are able to achieve detail which Kodak says is unachievable by competitors.
The finer pigments lead to faster ink drying times and very thin dried ink layers, meaning less scattering of light and richer and purer print results.
