Reuseabox, a circular economy packaging company has announced it has acquired B Corporation (B Corp) certification, joining a growing group of companies looking to improve ethics and responsibilities.

Reuseabox deals largely in cardboard boxes intended for recycling which it re-distributes to other companies looking to pack their products. The business helps to reduce waste, protects the environment, and contributes to a more circular company, an objective of more and more print and packaging companies in 2023.
Its newest certification was given by B Lab, a not-for-profit initiative that supplies B Corp certification after companies go through a rigorous social and environmental requirement process.

Chris Turner, executive director of B Lab UK, says: “We are delighted to welcome Reuseabox to the B Corp community. This is a movement of companies who are committed to changing how businesses operate and believe businesses really can be a force for good.

“We know that Reuseabox is going to be a fantastic addition to the community and will continue driving the conversation forward.”

As a B Corp company, Reuseabox has committed to a purpose beyond profit strategy covering five key impact areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers.

Turner adds: “We are pleased to have B Corps of all shapes and sizes as part of our community, from start-ups to multinationals and across many different industries. Welcoming Reuseabox is an exciting moment because it has an opportunity to lead the way within the packaging industry.”

Ellie Good, chief purpose officer at Reuseabox, comments: “We are beyond proud to be certified as a B Corp and be part of a community that is putting people and planet before profit.

The company now sits alongside 1,400 other companies including big brands like The Guardian, innocent, Patagonia, The Body Shop, and Abel & Cole.

“We have built our business around pushing the importance of reuse before recycling and each day our employees and our customers are actively making a difference to the planet,” says Good, who concludes: “Being a B Corp certifies that we will always pursue purpose before profit.”
