Ricoh has revealed that over 500,000 of its MH5420/5421 Series printheads have been sold

Ricoh is celebrating hitting a significant milestone after over 500,000 of its MH5420/5421 Series printheads have been sold.
According to the manufacturer, the fifth generation print heads have enabled many global partners to develop and launch systems which have gone on to achieve sales of tens of billions.
Compatible with a range of inks from water-based to UV, solvent, and oil, the printheads are used for applications such as signage, textiles, labels, and industrial décor.
Amongst the extensive list of users of the print heads are Mark Andy, Agfa, Durst, and EFI Inkjet.
Dave Medlar, vice president of Digital Business Unit at Mark Andy, says: “We chose the fifth generation of printheads because of their robustness and reliability, and because they deliver a consistent, small drop over and over again.”
Durst uses the printheads in conjunction with proprietary data electronics and automated matching algorithms in both water-based and UV inks applications, and as an integral part of its modular machine systems.
Georg Grossrubatcher, group technology officer of Durst says using the printheads enables the company to meet demand from industrial clients and achieve print quality consistency.
Doug Edwards, chief technology officer of EFI Inkjet reflects on the printheads’ compatibility with EFI inks: “The Ricoh printhead compatibility with EFI inks offers the highest versatility available, allowing EFI to address many application segments.”
