The N730i Integration module has been announced by Domino at this year’s Labelexpo Americas
Industrial printing company Domino Printing Sciences (Domino) has announced a new 1200dpi digital print engine for integration into flexographic lines.
The N730i Integration module has been announced by Domino at this year’s Labelexpo Americas.
The new digital hybrid printing and finishing machine allows converters to work with their preferred original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partner, creating a customised solution to their choice of configuration.
According to the company, the technology stack delivers “high resolution print at up to 70 metres per minute across all colours, including printing of high-opacity white at top speed.”
The machine is also said to be configurable in up to seven colours and able to achieve up to 92% of the pantone colour range.
Domino has also used Labelexpo Americas for the introduction of the R-Scan inline monitoring and print inspection camera system, designed for Domino’s N730i digital label press. The technology has been developed in collaboration with print inspection company, Lake Image Systems.
R-Scan provides automated monitoring of print quality, colour deviations, and registration, aiming to reduce setup time and supervision. The goal of the system is faster detection of errors, improvement of overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and delivering reliable quality.
Michael Matthews, product manager at Domino, says of the announcement of the N730i: “Brands are asking for high-quality labels at a fast turnaround, and we set out to provide converters with an industry-leading digital hybrid printing solution that would deliver a competitive edge.
“The modular approach of the N730i Integration module helps converters create a cost-effective, future-proof printing and finishing line with an OEM partner of their choosing. We are pleased to be one of the few providers to offer this flexibility.”
In addition, Domino recently announced the launch of a range of product handling and printing solutions designed to help manufacturers move away from labels on bottles.
Domino’s Bottle Closure Printing Station has been developed to print variable data and machine-readable codes, including QR codes, onto bottle caps and closures.
With governments worldwide exploring projects to increase plastic recycling rates and improve the quality of recycled materials, the need for label free bottles has grown in recent years. South Korea recently became the first country to take a stance on this, launching new legislation to prohibit the use of external labels on bottled water from January 2026.
