Flexographic photopolymer plate developer, Asahi Photoproducts, will showcase its developments under three themes: sustainability, printing excellence, and automation and digital transformation (DX).

Sustainability

A key focus for the manufacturer is sustainability and the company has been developing sustainable printing plate materials such as its liquid APRTM resins which are processed with water.

On this theme, Asahi Photoproducts, which is a subsidiary of the Asahi Kasei Corporation, will be demonstrating to visitors its philosophy of the Road to Solvent ZERO.

This concept is about making users’ operations more sustainable and creating a more pleasant environment for workers without the use of solvent.

The company will also be highlighting the fact that its AWP-LOOPTM water recycling unit can save up to 85% of wastewater usage.

Printing Excellence

Also on show will be Asahi’s full range of printing plates as well as the introduction of new plates. Due to their precise colour to colour register accuracy on press, Asahi says its plates are ideal for using expanded colour gamut printing technologies.

Asahi’s range of plates have been designed for paper, corrugated, and recycled film applications.

Automation and Digital Transformation (DX)

With digital transformation a hot topic for many exhibitors at drupa 2024, Asahi will showcase its CrystalCleanConnect solution, developed with ESKO and Kongsberg.

This system, already installed in several locations globally, reduces the platemaking process from 12 steps to one and reduces labour and potential for error. The result is a press-ready plate and an additional digital service is being offered in the form of remote technical support based on either smart glass or smartphone.
