Global print conglomerate, Cimpress, has formally agreed to install up to 20 new HP Indigo 120K or 18K digital presses, its largest deal with HP Indigo.

The formal agreement follows a preliminary announcement at drupa 2024 by HP and Cimpress. The installation of the new digital presses will take place in North America, Europe, and Australia.

Cimpress, which owns a wide range of web-to-print and print-on-demand companies including Vistaprint and Tradeprint, reportedly chose the Indigo 120K and 18K to accelerate the volume of customer orders delivered while reducing overall running cost.

The Indigo 120K offers a range of AI-powered solutions, automatically adjusting to achieve top image quality while reducing manual intervention.

The HP Indigo 18K adds an improved colour gamut and increased substrate flexibility in comparison to previous models.

Robert Keane, founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Cimpress, says: “Cimpress’ commitment to delivering market-leading customer value drives us to remain at the forefront of print technology.

“Our decision to install these HP Indigo presses – following our discussions at drupa in 2024 – reflects our confidence in HP’s cutting-edge technology and its ability to enhance our efficiency and expand our product and service offerings. We are proud to continue our collaboration with HP, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in digital print innovation to meet the evolving needs of our customers.”

Haim Levit, senior vice president and division president at HP, adds: “In a market where speed, flexibility, and exceptional quality are driving customer demands, we are delighted to partner with Cimpress as they install the HP Indigo 120K presses to deliver nonstop digital printing.

“By investing in cutting-edge digital print technology, they are positioning themselves for scalability, profitability, and long-term success. We’re excited to be on this journey with them as they transform from analogue to digital.”

HP demonstrated its Indigo 120K and 18K digital presses at this year’s Hunkeler Innovationdays trade show, particularly focusing on the machines’ embedded AI-based automation solutions.

HP Indigo also used the exhibition to introduce its latest generation of consumable supplies, designed to enhance print sustainability.

According to the company, the new supplies package can reduce carbon emissions from an average print job by up to 16%.
