Kodak has released version 11.0 of its PRINERGY software, which features enhancements to its automation and proofing capabilities
Kodak has launched a new version of its KODAK PRINERGY software, which is designed to consolidate production across digital and analogue printing processes.
The new update to its automation workflow software, version 11.0 of the technology, adds direct connectivity to KODAK PROSPER presses including the PROSPER 7000 Turbo.
The machine has been dubbed by Kodak as “the world's fastest inkjet press”, with a calculated maximum speed of 410m/min.
PRINERGY 11.0 also features enhancements to its rules-based automation (RBA) capabilities as well as improved usability for its Virtual Proofing Software Plus (VPS+).
RBA is a framework which creates an automated pre-press workflow to improve the efficiency of routine tasks in print production. PRINERGY utilises RBA to tell presses and related products how to respond to certain events if or when they occur.
VPS+ allows you to preview the printed appearance of pages, artwork, and layouts to identify errors before physical proofs or plates are made. A range of elements can be verified in advance including image placement and content, impositions and layouts, layered PDF versioning, trapping, screening, colour breaks, and overprints.
PRINERGY has been designed to be compatible with virtually all third-party software and equipment and connect with a broad range of digital presses.
Jim Barnes, chief IT implementation officer at Kodak, says: “The release of version 11.0 means PRINERGY is more than ever the key to unlocking efficiency, productivity, and profitability for printers in today’s digital, analogue and hybrid print production.
“The KODAK PRINERGY platform will continue to provide printers with advanced tools, automation and close collaboration options to stay competitive and profitable.”
Kodak will be demonstrating a range of solutions at this year’s Hunkeler Innovationdays, including the first appearance of Kodak’s PROSPER 7000 Turbo in Europe.
Kodak will showcase the PROSPER 7000 with its water-based EKTACOLOR inks in a roll-to-roll configuration with an unwinder and a rewinder designed and manufactured by the company.
Along with regular demonstrations of the PROSPER 7000, visitors to the Kodak booth will also have the opportunity to view a collection of print samples produced with Kodak’s PROSPER ULTRA 520 press, which is powered by its ULTRASTREAM technology.
