New MD at Two Sides as Jonathan Tame departs

Paper and print advocacy group, Two Sides, has announced the appointment of Josh Birch as its new managing director, taking over from Jonathan Tame who has led the company since 2014.

Birch is taking over the role after working for Two Sides for over six years, with his most recent role being as marketing/campaign manager.

Two Sides says that Birch has been central to developing the group’s communications, research, member engagement, and campaigns since he joined the company.

During Tame’s tenure, Two Sides has developed into a globally recognised initiative promoting the sustainable aspects of print, paper, and paper-based packaging with activities across Europe and North and South America.

Speaking about Birch’s appointment, Tame says: “Josh has been an integral part of Two Sides for many years and has made a significant contribution to its success. His knowledge of our campaigns, creative experience, and commitment to our members make him the ideal person to take the organisation forward.”

Martyn Eustace, chair of Two Sides, adds: “I’m delighted that Josh has accepted this new role and that he will lead the next phase of Two Sides’ development, including the launch of its new multilingual European digital platform, an enhanced membership proposition, and continued expansion into markets where local activity has previously been limited.”

Regarding the new multilingual platform Eustace refers to, Two Sides says this new AI-enabled platform will allow the organisation to engage directly with audiences across Europe.

Commenting on his appointment, Birch says: “I am incredibly honoured to become managing director and to build on the exceptional work Jonathan has led over the past 12 years. Two Sides has an exciting opportunity to strengthen the support and value we provide to members, expand our reach into new European markets, and make factual, evidence-based information about print, paper, and paper-based packaging more widely accessible.”

Regarding his time with the organisation, Tame concludes: “I have greatly enjoyed my time with Two Sides and am proud of everything the organisation and its members have achieved. I am delighted to be handing over to someone who has clearly demonstrated that he is ready for the role, and I have every confidence that Two Sides will continue to grow and flourish under Josh’s leadership.”

Two Sides has assured members that it will remain focused on promoting the attractiveness and sustainability of print and paper with trusted research, effective communications, and greater value for the wider industry.
