Labelexpo, an international event for the label and package printing industry, has announced a rename and rebrand, on the first day of its 2025 edition in Barcelona.

As of 2026, Labelexpo will rebrand as LOUPE, an acronym for ‘Labels and Outer-Packaging Embellishment.’

The rebrand is designed to mark a strategic shift in focus, reflecting what the organisers see as the event’s broader scope. The new name aims to include not only labels but also flexible packaging and folding cartons.

The first event under the new identity will be LOUPE Americas, which is scheduled to take place in Chicago in September 2026.

In a statement, the company said: “Formerly Labelexpo, LOUPE has evolved with the industry.

“The change is a symbol of LOUPE’s position as a driving force of innovation – ensuring it remains the global home for labels while expanding its lens to encompass the wider package printing sectors.”

Speaking about the reasoning behind the change in further detail, LOUPE continues: “Today, Labelexpo Europe 2025 in Barcelona welcomes over 650 exhibitors covering a wide spectrum of the labels and package printing sector.

“Data from Labelexpo Europe 2023 showed 40 percent of show visitors registered an interest in flexible packaging and 25 per cent in folding cartons. Over 25 percent of exhibitors at Labelexpo Europe 2025 have portfolios that reach across labels, flexible packaging, and folding carton sectors.”

Labelexpo Europe 2025 launched at the Gran Via venue of Fira Barcelona yesterday, with the event running until September 19th. An insight into some of the major manufacturers at the show are presenting can be found at the following article.
