The print on demand company bought a DC-618 Cutter Creaser and a DBM-700 Booklet System
Leeds based commercial printer PRINT.WORK (P.W) has purchased two Duplo machines from CJB Printing Equipment, Duplo’s national UK supplier.
P.W added a DC-618 Cutter Creaser to its collection, which came with an F-100 integrated folder, as well as a DBM-700 Booklet System with a square spine module.
The print on demand company has a focus on sustainability with its products printed on a range of recycled papers, describing itself as ‘a planet friendly printing company’.
The company has been purchasing Duplo printing solutions since 2017, first purchasing the DC-616 Cutter Creaser after seeing it demonstrated while purchasing a press from Konica Minolta.
Describing the first purchase, Dave Rushton, director of P.W, says: “I saw the DC-616 in the corner and asked what it was, the demonstrator ran some business cards and creased jobs and that was the first time we'd seen finishing done in such a way.
“We were completely blown away because it did everything that we needed it to do in one small unit that was easily programmed. We didn’t have the resources to act on it immediately, but it had been in the back of our minds ever since.
“We purchased the DC-616, and from day one it just worked. It took all the fussy materials we could throw at it and before we knew it, it was working day in, day out.”
Adding the Fiery-integrated Duplo DC-618 to its arsenal is the latest in a line of Duplo purchases from P.W, which has reportedly been making regular purchases from CJB for the past four years.
Rushton explains: “All our upgrades came after we realised that we needed more capacity. The increase in automation really helps us keep up with the orders.
“CJB has helped us every step of the way and we’ve been able to build our market presence a little bit more with every upgraded machine.”
Highlighting the collaboration between his company and P.W, director at CJB Carl Boulter says: “Because we have fully factory-trained and Duplo-certified engineers, we were able to refurbish various bits of kit to fit the requirements of P.W.
“But when it came to expansion and speed, they needed the latest that Duplo had to offer.”
The purchase came after Duplo’s range of solutions were demonstrated to P.W directors Rushton and Nick Goodliff at this year’s drupa trade show.
Speaking of the demonstration, regional sales manager for Duplo UK, Wendy Hogg, says: “I loved showing Dave and Nick around at Drupa. It was a great chance to really show off the pedigree of Duplo equipment and open their eyes to what was achievable in the foreseeable future for their finishing requirements.”
